Wedding Industry gives PINK Hope

Christmas is a special time for so many reasons. For some it celebrates the birth of Jesus, while for other it’s a time say thank you to those special people around you. For me, I believe Christmas is a time of giving, and I hope this is something I pass onto my kids.

Yesterday, I was honoured to watch as many of our friends from the Wedding Industry came together to celebrate Christmas at “Bubbles and Brunch”. Held at the Inlighten Photography studio, styled by Events by Nadia and catered by Gunners Barracks, “Bubbles and Brunch” was not only a catch up, but also a chance to donate to an incredibly worthy cause, the Pink Hope Organisation.

Pink Hope is a preventative health organisation working to ensure every individual can assess, manage and reduce their risk of breast and ovarian cancer, while providing personalised support for at risk women.  You can learn more about Pink Hope on their website.

I was honoured to Co-Host this event with my beautiful friend Nadia Duran from Events by Nadia. Incredibly the event started with just an idea and a text message.

We love working in weddings every day and watching our brides dreams come true. But we were both feeling the need to do something more that would teach our young children the importance of giving to others who need it.  (Yes, I am basically saying my kids are spoilt and in need of a reality check!)

So “Bubbles and Brunch” was our first baby step into our new philanthropic endeavours.  A way to bring the Wedding Industry together to celebrate Christmas, as well as raise money for a good cause at the same time. I am very pleased to say that we raised over $2,000!

Thank you to everyone who provided prizes for the raffle:

Thank you to everyone who attended and donated.  I hope you all had a wonderful morning – even though it did get a little sweaty when the power went down in Surry Hills!  39 degrees in a glass room, eek…. but it made for a great candle blowing out photo and video!

Watch this space for more events next year, as Nadia has always has a burning desire to create a foundation to assist refugee children.  Bring on an inspiring and energising 2017!
